Bill Maher gets owned by guests for supporting SOPA
Maher says he didn’t read the bill, yet he still pretends like he knows what he’s talking about.
Aw, Bill, you lost a bunch of money off of your horrifically Islamophobic documentary Religulous?
Who wants to borrow (not even) a few dollars from the incredibly rich Bill Maher?
And some more dollars that wouldn’t have been invested in watching your neoliberal punditry of a show anyway.
I don’t hate this guy. Watching him talk to ppl with opposite views is often entertaining and his texts are fun (though seldom written by him). He’s got this way of talking that sounds “fair & balanced”, he can keep it cool and he thus manages to say things to people that a Michael Moore never could, even though they seem to share quite a few views.
However, lately he’s become impatient and he’s slowly transforming into Andy Rooney. He’s the first to stand up when his Overtime is over, he often pushes the crowd to clap. He feels the need to fight the crowd when they boo because he thinks this way he shows balls and that he’s more than just another “moneyed rebel”. He likes to give the impression that he’s a thinker and he’s “cultivated”, but he’s not much different than the Republican extremists he despises: everything he does is motivated by his huge ego, his childhood frustrations and his hideously deformed self-image.
